Behind The Scenes With The Panto Cast

East Ayrshire Leisure shares a behind the scenes look at Kilmarnock’s 2025 Panto - Sleeping Beauty. This is a peek behind the curtains to see how the actors transform into their memorable characters. The cast spend plenty of time in make-up and wardrobe to ensure their look suits their role.

The panto cast pose in all kinds of different positions and the settings are varied as well - inside the studio, outside in the park and the use of green screens. The props are a fun way for each character to define themselves and more importantly for the actors to play around with. And who could blame them, everyone enjoys carrying a sword or a wand!  There is serious work among all the fun which involves a lot of staring at facial expressions in mirrors and reading lines. All this is necessary for the actors to build their character.

These images offer a wonderful contrast to some of the cast photos that reveal the real people behind the costumes and their genuine joy in working together. They also highlight a few of the many behind – the -scenes contributors who make the panto such a wonderful production. From photographers and make up artists to costume designers and many others, these talented individuals create the stage on which the stars shine!
